Surrender to the Self
Along with self-inquiry, Ramana Maharshi taught surrender as a path to Self-realization. Complete surrender to the Self leads to the same goal as self-inquiry.
Ramana Maharshi taught two main paths to Self-realization: self-inquiry and surrender. While self-inquiry is the path of knowledge, surrender is the path of devotion. Both lead to the same goal - the realization of the Self.
Surrender means giving up the sense of doership, the idea that "I am the doer." One surrenders all actions, thoughts, and desires to the Self, recognizing that everything happens according to the will of the Self. This complete surrender leads to the same realization as self-inquiry.
For those who find self-inquiry difficult, surrender is an equally valid path. The key is sincerity and complete dedication. Whether through inquiry or surrender, the goal is the same - to realize the Self that is one's true nature.
