The Final Years
In his final years, Ramana Maharshi continued to teach through his presence, even as his body showed signs of illness. His realization remained unshaken until the end.
In his final years, Ramana Maharshi developed cancer, but his spiritual state remained completely unshaken. Even as his body weakened, his presence continued to radiate peace and the Self. Devotees who came during this time found the same profound peace they had always experienced.
He continued to be available to devotees, answering their questions and providing guidance. His attitude toward his illness was one of complete equanimity. The body was just a tool, and its condition did not affect the Self.
When he left the body on April 14, 1950, it was in a state of complete Self-realization. His final words were about Arunachala, the sacred mountain that had been his Guru, his guide, and his abode. His teachings continue to inspire seekers around the world.
